Just as Edge10 announce their new touchsreen technology it seems that the market makes some big announcements. With touch panel applications becoming more popular recently, Taiwan-based touch panel-related companies such as Empia Technology, Mildex Optical, Swenc Technology and J Touch are planning to list on the emerging, over-the-counter (OTC), and main boards of the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) in the future, according to the companies and sources.
Touch panel controller IC maker Empia Technology is planning to apply for listing on the Taiwan's OTC stock market by the end of this year, according to sources. Empia is focusing on large-size touch panel applications, said the company adding that the touch panel market is about to take off.
Empia is currently listed on Taiwan's emerging stock market.
Mildex Optical, which recently listed on the emerging market, is preparing for listing on the main TSE board in the middle of 2008. Mildex is a subsidiary company of Panjit Group. Mildex merged with the touch panel team of Panjit in April.
Shipments of Mildex's four-wire resistive touch panels totaled 250,000 units in September, said the company, adding that monthly shipments will double to 500,000 units in October. During the first-half of 2008, Mildex's monthly capacity will expand to two million units, noted the company.
Taiwan-based TPO Displays affiliated company Swenc Technology, another touch screen panel maker, is preparing for listing on the emerging market by the end of 2007. The company is also planning for listing on the TSE at the end of 2008, said Ray Chen, chairman of TPO.
Swenc is aggressively expanding its capacity to meet rising demand. The company currently has a monthly capacity of 1.5 million units.
J Touch, a resistive touch panel supplier, will be listed on the emerging market soon, according to sources. The company recently began operation at its second plant, noted the sources.
